What Is Earlobe Repair?

Over time, a pierced earlobe can become stretched if a person frequently wears large or heavy earrings. In addition to creating a long or wide opening, earrings may tear completely through the lobe. A torn earlobe may also result from trauma, such as having an earring pulled off or caught on clothing.  Torn earlobes can be repaired with an in-office procedure.

Torn earlobe repair first involves “freshening” the edges of the torn lobe by removing a small amount of skin. Then, using fine sutures, the earlobe is meticulously repaired to reconstruct a normal, rounded earlobe that matches your natural ear shape.

Ideal Candidates

Candidates should be non-smokers who are in good health, and free from any medical conditions that might hinder the healing process. A consultation with our medical team will determine whether you qualify for the procedure or not.

How Is Earlobe Repair Performed?

We perform precise earlobe repair as an outpatient procedure using local anesthesia. The surgical team will cover the earlobes, extract healthy tissue, and stitch the earlobe back together, dressing the wound for proper healing.

Please take note that, for specific cases, anesthesia levels may vary based on individual needs. Your comfort and well-being are our priority throughout this procedure.

Does Earlobe Repair Hurt?

Earlobe reconstruction is virtually painless. While you may experience mild discomfort, our advanced techniques and the expertise of our medical team ensure a minimally invasive and comfortable earlobe cosmetic surgery.

How Long Will the Process Last?

In general, earlobe repair takes around 45 – 60 minutes. The exact duration will vary depending on the surgical plan, the earlobe’s current state, and the patient’s desired result.

Aftercare

You will be able to return home immediately after the procedure, with only a small bandage covering the stitches. The stitches will be removed after one to two weeks. When the earlobe has healed and the scar has softened, you may re-pierce the repaired earlobe. It takes about three months for the earlobe to fully heal.

How Much Time Will It Take for My Earlobe to Heal?

Your earlobe will usually need a period of six to eight weeks to heal. We advise against getting your ear pierced in the same spot during this time, as the scar tissue at the surgical site is not yet strong enough.

How Much Does Earlobe Repair Cost?

We provide transparent pricing for our earlobe cosmetic surgery services. The cost of earlobe reconstruction is individually assessed, providing a detailed breakdown during your consultation for this specialized procedure.
